In a world where everything is shiny and new, we chose to celebrate history. This Simson Schwalbe KR51/2 is not your typical restoration; it’s a curated revival. We turned back time without polishing it away. Its original, weathered finish tells the story of decades on the road. Every scratch and spot of rust has been deliberately conserved to preserve its authentic "barn find" character.
Contrast is the true star of this project. While the bodywork proudly displays its rich history, we introduced a striking, handcrafted upgrade: a custom seat upholstered in premium, diamond-stitched brown leather. This touch of modern artisanship and luxury stands in perfect harmony with the scooter’s raw, industrial look, elevating it with a refined and sophisticated aesthetic.
The engine and mechanical systems were meticulously inspected, cleaned, and brought back to full working order—all while retaining their aged surfaces to maintain the visual integrity of the build. From the original gauges to the wheels, this is an homage to iconic East German engineering that hasn't been polished over, but allowed to age with pride.
